Last Saturday (14th January) I did a workshop in Bookbinding at Yvette Hawkins wonderful Book Apothecary studio here in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
I had a wonderful time at the workshop. It’s been a long time since I did any bookbinding. I did a course many years ago at Newcastle College – back when it did interesting courses.
The workshop has awakened my interest in bookbinding and I am going to continue with it. I have ordered some materials and tools and also some books.
I heartily recommend Yvette’s workshops and her art as she is an amazing artist.
We did three different syles:
a) Concertina,
b) Japanese Stab, and
c) Coptic Stitch.
Here are my attempts. Don’t laugh too much!

This is what the Concertina looks like open.
